Categories of Membership


Senior Fellows (SFASA) :
This will be the highest level of membership of the ASA. The SFASA will be conferred on those who have served as Presidents or Vice-Presidents. Chapter Presidents may make up to two yearly SFASA awards per annum to those with the highest achievements in the field of angiology. The criteria for this award will be at a higher level than the 'Achievement in Angiology Medal'. Only candidates with an exceptional record (based on international standards and recognition) in the field of angiology should be considered for this award. The subscription will be the same as for FASA (see below). Senior Fellows will be allowed to denote their status by the abbreviation SFASA. A diploma will be awarded to denote this level of membership.
Fellows (FASA) :
Eligible candidates will have an interest in angiology and will hold a doctorate level degree. Alternately, candidates will hold a senior hospital-based or academic position. Candidates with a substantial publication record may also be considered for Fellowship. Medically or scientifically qualified candidates may apply for Fellowship. Fellows will be allowed to denote their status by the abbreviation FASA. A diploma will be awarded to denote this level of membership.
Members (MASA) :

Eligible candidates will have an interest in angiology and will hold a 'Bachelor's' or 'Masters' university degree. Medically or scientifically qualified candidates may apply for Membership. Members will be allowed to denote their status by the abbreviation MASA. The subscription will be at a lower level than for FASA. A diploma will be awarded to denote this level of membership.
