The Officers of the Scientific Council are pleased to announce the formation of the American Society of Angiology, headquartered in New York.
The Society was founded by many distinguished physicians in the field of angiology, vascular medicine, cardiology and vascular and endovascular surgery. As a society we strive to incorporate a variety of disciplines to encourage education and interaction in our common fields of endeavor.
As an interested and involved professional in the field of Angiology, we welcome and encourage your contributions to the Society, its biannual meeting (in conjunction with the International Academy of Clinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis), and the Society's official journal, Angiology, The Journal of Vascular Diseases. The journal International Angiology inception was 1981 and is now in its 42st year of publication. Its circulation extends to individual physicians, libraries, and institutions world-wide, and the journal is listed in all major indexing and abstracting services, including Index Medicus/Medline, Current Contents/Clinical Medicine and Excerpta Medica (EMBASE). We all know how critically important these listings are. As a Fellow of the Society, you will receive priority in manuscript publication in the Journal. And with listing in Index Medicus, Excerpta Medica (EMBASE) and Current Contents/ Clinical Medicine your work will be seen worldwide immediately upon publication.
An important benefit of Membership is the inclusion of an annual subscription to International Angiologyas part of your dues payment. As a Society, we have purposely made an effort to keep the annual dues as reasonable as possible in consideration of the many financial responsibilities which every physician faces today. We commit to remain diligently conscious of this in the future.
We hope that you will join many of your colleagues and enthusiastically support the American Society of Angiology through your annual Membership, your submission of manuscripts for publication, and through the educational and social opportunities of our biannual meetings.
We look forward to your support and participation.
Sincerely,
Timothy R. McLaughlin
